Try this
It is that time of the year again. Yes, the colorful fall with crisp chilly days and long nights. When you yearn for something warm and cozy. I got my first chestnuts yesterday and dry roasted them. Indira of Mahanandi first introduced me to chestnuts through her blog. I have been hooked to roasted chestnuts ever since. Thanks Indira.
This time I enjoyed roasted chestnuts with fig spread. I love everything about fig, well who doesn’t? Find another fig maniac here.

I love chestnuts, have never had fig spread, not a fan of figs. Chestnuts just in time for the holidays.
Mythili,
I just found your blog and I love it. The colors are so vibrant, and your pictures are stunning.
To add to this, I absolutely love figs. We used to have a tree in the backyard when I was growing up, and my mother would make fig jam and fig preserves from it. One of my warmest memories is of the bright sun streaking in through the kitchen window on a cold winter morning, with a slice of still-hot bread spread thick with butter, and a dollop of home made fig jam on top.
Mythili, Thanks for telling me about these chestnuts! there is a chestnut tree near home from which some ppl were taking these. I was wondering what they were. I bought one home. it had a very prickly coating to it. My hubby was warning me to not have them since he too had no idea! I will try to find more and roast them.
Mythili, Nice blog you got there. I got to try these chestnuts once.. haven’t tasted them yet once.
Nice to c u back. Tatz a good post.
