Sankranti Bommala Koluvu
Happy Sankranti to all my readers! Sankranti (aka Makar Sankranti) is celebrated as Pongal, Lohri etc. in various regions of India. In our parts we usually celebrate it as a 3 day festival. My mom observes the Margazhi vratham and the last day of Margazhi is Goda Kalyanam.  Bommala Kolvuu, rangavalli or Muggulu(Kolam), winter harvest, haridasu, basavanna (with the decked up ox), festive feast, perantam are some prominent features of our household during the 3 days of this festival. And of course lip-smacking “kovela” (temple) prasaadam too
.
Here is this year’s bommala koluvu. Bommala Koluvu = arrangement of dolls and figurines of various deities.
Last year’s Bommala Koluvu here.
Also check out Sailu’s new creative outlet Suvastra.
